did you file with vermont before April 1st?
my husband's I-140 case was initially sent to Nebraska (after april 1st batch) and it got transferred to Texas and we got Texas service center receipt notice.
I guess you would send RFE to the center that issued the RFE. Wait for it to arrive....Also, you already have receipt notice, right? Look for the first three letters your receipt number starts with. If it is EAC, that your case is with vermont. If it is SRC, than your case is with Texas..

as folks mentioned above it is totally ok to not renew AP...do it if u travellin in the next few months...
on a side note...do people here know the average time it is takin to renew AP nowdays....TSC......paper and/or electronic..?
I had put in EAD renewal at TSC and got the approved EAD in hand within a month ...that was really good speed...anyone has info on AP approval timelines???

Does anyone know if the latest Frist amendment to the bill would still allow H1's etc to file for 218 as outlined above? I did some more reading and I am still confident the analysis above is an option for many H1's like myself.
Frankly I'd be happy to wait six years for a GC if it meant I could be out of this continual H1/LC/140/485 rat-race. Being able to be self employed would be a huge positive for me. I'm already on my second LC and I am involved in founding my second new company. For executives the H1/GC process is useless because you frequently get promoted or change titles, and by the time your LC is near processing it's likely that the original application is no longer supportable. Plus, if you own equity in the company that opens a whole can of worms that the USCIS will object to.
I don't care if 218D is supposed to be for 'illegal' immigrants. Hell, I'll learn Spanish! Via con dios! Obras son amores y no buenas razones!

I missed the last rally and I regret it. There was a moment in time when we were all really energized. The flower campaign was brilliant. But now we seem to have lost that fire - me included! I dont even remember my dates anymore. I know we have a serious problem of getting people together for anything. But starting small in our own cities and connecting to a national IV would probably work. I am here in Sterling Heights, MI (Detroit Metro Area) and I am willing to host people in my area It will be great if others in other cities can do that too. I am dre. ming, but think about it if this works. We can march to washigton again such large numbers that everyone will notice. I really think its time to get together and do something. Bouncing ideas on IV boards is great but lets meet and get to know each other and see if can talk about this problem face to face across the country. Thats what grassroot effort it!. If nothing, we will find new friends in each other. I hope to find that fire in us again and I thank you for reading my post!

Is it possible ? If it is possible to pick up the legal immigration provisions from CIR and make a new Bill, we should proceed with that option,so that it will be passed quickly before CIR. We should talk to our senators for this option.

Canada Consulate Buffalo Letter states "please take test withing 120 days of this letter" Does that mean I have to only take the test withing 120 days OR

I think its the latter....but what if ELS test center delays results...?

I have my W-2's from 99 and 00 so no need to call the University.
What I dont have is the actual return (1040nr) which I "mailed" at that time.
Who in the world makes copies of a tax form that was actually mailed. Oh, and kept it for 9 years!!!
For some reason, they picked on your case. This is really absurd that they are asking for 9 years old tax returns.
As some others have mentioned, I would recommend the same... consult with a good immigration attorney. Experienced immigration attorneys like Murthy, Rajiv Khanna or Matthew Oh probably have experience in dealing with these kind of situations. They should be able to give you better advice what to do.

I am planning to take visa appointment in Chennai consulate for my 8th year H-1B extension and my wife's H-4. When i checked the vfs website yesterday, dates were open for last week of Sep'2006. Today it is already showing only dates in Nov'2006 as open dates. Howcome Oct'2006 dates never showed up. Were the appointments finished that fast for Oct'2006 ? Any other members who observed this, please post your thoughts.

If this happens it will be a bad news as given environment I 140 approval takes years . Very soon there will be a backlog in I 140 stage.. They are just swaping backlog from one stage to another..
So how can we influence them through this 'public commenting' period? Would that make any change at all?
